KLCC

Kuala Lumpur City Centre or KLCC is an urban integrated mix development right in the heart of the city. Within its vicinity are some of KL’s famous landmarks, namely, the Petronas Twin Towers and Suria KLCC Shopping Mall, international class hotels such as The Traders Hotel, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and many prime apartment and office buildings. KLCC is where the city folks converge in search of business, entertainment, shopping or to just relax at the KLCC Park, a 50-acre tropical landscape that is open to the public.

The Petronas Twin Towers and the surrounding skyscrapers are the preferred locations for major corporations to set-up their operations. Petronas Dagangan and its subsidiaries occupy most of the office space, together with other successful international companies. Maxis Tower is occupied by Maxis Communications, one of the most admired companies in Malaysia. Exxon Mobil also has its own corporate headquarters in the KLCC vicinity together with many others who choose 50088, the postcode for KLCC, as their corporate address.

There are certainly a host of activities for both the young and the young at heart. KLCC is a great place to bring the whole family because there’s something for everyone. Suria KLCC, the premier shopping centre occupying the lower floors of the twin towers, is a magnet for those who seek retail therapy and a bit of window shopping. You have most of the high-end brand names here such as Mark Jacobs, Karen Millen, Dunhill, Cartier and many others. There are also Isetan and Parkson Grand as the major retailers together with other specialty shops.
For entertainment, head on to the Tanjung Golden Village Cinema for the latest blockbusters. Kids would also enjoy a few hours at Petrosains, where they can learn more about our natural resources and take part in the interactive activities. The whole family would also enjoy an excursion to Aquaria KLCC for a glimpse into the mysterious marine world. It’s not all about entertainment and fun at the KLCC. You can also take a peek at the local artists’ work at Galeri Petronas where exhibitions are held on regular basis. It doesn’t cost a dime to immerse in some art and culture here. For an afternoon or evening of international quality classical music, catch one of the performances by the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra at the Petronas Philharmonic Hall.

Dining options here are quite extensive and vary in terms of prices. For a quick and affordable meal, try the Signatures Level 2 Food Court or the Rasa Food Arena. The choices are mind-boggling but for first time visitors, it is recommended that you try the local food. For a more relaxing atmosphere, you can choose from a number of cafes that serve great coffee and snacks all day long, namely, Aseana Café, San Francisco Coffee and Dome Express. Then there are the more upmarket options of specialty restaurants and fine dining outlets. You can choose to enjoy Middle Eastern cuisine at Al Marjan, Chilli’s Grill & Bar for big portions of American dishes or spicy Thai at the Imperial Chakri Palace.

With its strategic location, it’s really easy to get to KLCC. Buses from all corners of the city and suburbs would pass by area and taxis are easily hailed at the various designated taxi stands. One of the busiest LRT stations is located just metres away from the entrance of the Petronas Twin Towers. The KLCC LRT station is abuzz with commuters all day long thus its best that you buy the daily pass to save time queuing up for tickets.

It is a breeze when it comes to finding a place to stay in the KLCC area. With such a strategic location and easily accessible from most parts of the city, you can choose to stay hotels not within its vicinity.
